This painted horse bench is best for the girl who’s a little country at coronary heart! This undertaking makes use of one horse stencil that you would be able to customise to create some style for your herd of horses. 🙂 There is not so much talent concerned. I simply opened a horse ebook and began giving my painted horses random splotches here and there.

The bench itself is as simple as will also be. I made it from a single board and purchased some hair pin steel legs for it on amazon, and the legs were relatively affordable at about $10 each!
As for time, I consider it did take me a at the same time to paint all those horses, but it surely used to be a quality lazy weekend, and really enjoyable to paint and watch the design unfold. I can not wait to see what you give you!
which you can customize this technique to your own form via picking out your favourite animal and discovering a just right silhouette of it online. Excellent success and have fun!
Painted horse bench DIY with hair pin legs…The finished product!
I started by way of prepping the bench seat, which is without problems a 2" x 13" board. I sanded down all of the edges, and stained it with the colour "honey" by Minwax. I looooove this stain color.
I discovered a horse silhoutte online that I printed out to use as my stencil. See that package deal of tan paper? It can be white carbon paper. I will spread that out, white part face down on the bench. Then i’m going to put my horse stencil on it and trace the horse stencil with a ball factor pen. With the intention to switch the white define to the bench…
I arranged the horses flawlessly and taped them down so they wouldn’t move when I traced them…
Now you cannot really see it in this photo above, but I’ve cut out tiny squares of the white carbon transfer paper, and placed it beneath my horse silhouettes.
can you see the very faint horse outlines right here? I did that via tracing the horse silhouette on top of the white carbon switch paper.
GAMBAR5 I went back over the faint lines with a white paint pen.
Then I stuffed in each and every horse define with white craft paint. This is nothing designated…Simply $0.99 a bottle at any craft retailer.
this is where it gets fun for me. I opened my horse encyclopedia that I found at GoodWill thrift retailer and started including splotches of black paint to my horses, making an attempt to imitate what I noticed in the horse booklet.
on the end I turned over the bench, and screwed on some hair-pin legs. Then I did 3 coats of oil based polyurethane by Minwax. It brought various depth to the conclude.
this is a closeup of the painted horse bench. This ended being one of my favourite initiatives!
What do you feel? Will you do this design together with your favorite animal?
wouldn’t it seem nice in a nation farmhouse entry method, right beneath the coat rack?
