Walmart had these cool wood grain placemats, they jogged my memory of barnwood…. That style that every body sees and needs? Well I picked up one not understanding what i’d use it for?? The inspiration would come to me later….And it did, over time as most projects evolve as you go alongside.
I needed to fit and reduce the placemat to end up the bottom liner for the clean, wood tray seen above.
I purchased a set of those trays in graduating sizes on the greenback retailer and made up our minds the placemat would make the excellent backside for one no longer only given that of the wonderful wood grain but in addition when you consider that it could be detachable to wash and exchange back inside the tray.
The tray used to be painted in a matching color, just white chalk paint that I tinted with acrylic brown paint. Does not the grain on the placemat look actual?
next used to be to color the terra cotta flower pots, the primary plan involved utilising three pots however it received narrowed all the way down to only one. The beige chalk paint blend adhered quality however required 2 coats for complete insurance policy.
I constantly buy white chalk paint so i will be able to combine in a few drops of dark acrylics to provide me a wide variety of colour hues to decide on from for my crafts.
as soon as the paint was once dry, I stuffed the within of the pot with floral foam thinking I used to be going to do a dried floral association.
That plan changed after I discovered this chimney lamp color that I was once able to sit on top of the froth. I would use a battery operated tealight as the sunshine supply to maintain it safer and cleaner than a wax candle. The white tealight base also obtained a couple of layers of the beige paint I mixed as much as camouflage it amongst the seashells better.
to hide the blank areas of foam peeking through I used small seashells, bought from the Dollarstore. I finished off dressing the tray with decorative orbs, a monkey knot and a small driftwood piece.
right here it’s considered from a different angle.
here it is sitting on my antique cupboard, part seaside sort, section farmhouse type which is what i admire! Create whatever to fit your sort and your home will probably be filled with specified objects that no one else has! ❤
