Here’s what I used to make mine:

Garland ties (Dollar Tree)
3/8" Dowel Rod (WalMart) – cut to 12"
Scrap block of timber – reduce to 3" x 3"
Floral Tape (WalMart)
Drill and three/eight" Drill Bit
Wood Glue
Wire Cutters
Scissors

I also used our chop saw to cut the wood and a scrap piece of sand paper to clean the cut edges of my dowel rod and timber block.

NO! DO NOT drill a hollow in your wood block in your dining room desk that took you 16 hours to refinish! Don’t be stupid! I drilled the holes outside on the patio where it became safe! I just snapped the picture interior where the lighting fixtures changed into higher. Heehee!

NOTE: Only drill a very shallow hollow on your wood block, its needless to drill all of the way via. It’s ok in case you do even though, however it’s going to let your glue leak out.

Add a small amount of timber glue in your freshly drilled hole. I prefer to use Gorilla Wood Glue, but any wood glue will do, or hot glue would work too in case you pick.

Too tons glue looks as if this! Press your dowel rod into the glue, wipe off extra and let dry even as you’re finishing the subsequent steps.

At this factor you could paint or stain your base in case you need to, however I chose now not to color or stain mine due to the fact I’m impatient!

Use your twine cutters to cut the lengths of garland ties you need. This component is completely as much as you on what lengths you want each branch to be. I failed to measure, I simply commenced out short on the pinnacle after which made them longer as I went down.

NOTE: You can also use vintage faux Christmas tree branches as nicely as opposed to the garland ties.

Next you’ll want to trim the stems as brief as you may, trimming honestly close at the bottom where you may be attaching them to the stay with the floral tape.

NOTE: This is extraordinarily messy and I endorse you doing it outside if feasible. Static and little tiny plastic portions led to a giant mess to clean up!

This is how I left my branches, I did cross again and trim the bottom end very brief so I could attach it to the stick.

Taking your shortest branch, attach it to the pinnacle of the stick using floral tape. The tutorial I watched used brown tape, but our WalMart did no longer deliver some thing aside from green, so that’s what I’m the use of. Read the directions at the tape package deal as to the way to use it. I’m now not going to lie, I’ve never used floral tape earlier than and it become very tough to get use to. I think if I maintain making those, I’d get the grasp of it. FYI. I ended up reducing this pinnacle department shorter in the long run.

Keep on adding your branches each few inches till you have 3 rows. My pinnacle rows had three branches and my backside row had 4. Remember, your branches gets longer as you move all the way down to the lowest of the tree. I wrapped the floral tape all the manner to the bottom of the stick just so it looked the equal all together. After I changed into completed, I went returned and trimmed my branches to a more graduated appearance.

0 I determined to use mine as a centerpiece for my Christmas desk putting. I set my finished tree on a plate and brought antique red embellishes all around it. I suppose it is so adorable!

You can beautify your tree in case you need or simply depart it plain like I did. Good good fortune and have a laugh! Thanks for searching! 🙂
